Swisher Records Contacts

This is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release anyone, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the agency that holds the record.

County Jail and Release Records

The Swisher County Sheriff's Office holds local jail booking, release, transfer, and booking-photo records. Its website does not publish request hours or a fee schedule, so call before visiting or sending a written request.

Court Records and Case Outcomes

The combined County and District Clerk handles misdemeanor and felony case records. Judicial records use the clerk's process, not a Texas Public Information Act request. Office hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The office remains open through lunch and closes on weekends.

State Prison Release Records

TDCJ handles records for Thomas R. Mechler Unit and other state prisons. The no-charge offender-information email can provide basic incarceration data and a Projected Release Date, but it does not provide photographs. A fuller historic release or photo request goes through TDCJ Public Information.

Supervision and Notifications

Swisher parole and mandatory-supervision cases route to the Plainview District Parole Office. County custody alerts use IVSS-Counties, while TDCJ prison and parole alerts use a separate IVSS service.

Plainview District Parole Office
1001 North Interstate Highway 27, Suite 232
Plainview, TX 79072
Phone: 806-293-5989
  • IVSS-Counties help: 866-268-8959, available around the clock.
  • TDCJ Victim Services: 800-848-4284 or victim.svc@tdcj.texas.gov.
  • Board of Pardons and Paroles status: 844-512-0461.

Choose the Correct Route

Start with the last custodian. That avoids treating a transfer as a community release or sending a county-only booking question to the state prison system.
